Arrest of Key Leaders in the "Suicide Offering Group"

A security source in Basra Governorate reported that a security force conducted raids and searches in several areas of the governorate center in search of the Offering Group. The source indicated that "the security operation began in the city of Basra, resulting in the arrest of prominent leaders of the legally banned group." The source added that "the detainees were transferred to a special investigation center to complete legal procedures against them," explaining that "they intended to commit suicide and that one of them had amputated his fingers." The Iraqi National Security Agency announced about two weeks ago the infiltration of the "Offering Movement," also known as "Al-Alahiya," which advocates for extremist and deviated behaviors, and which has caused the suicide of a group of youth in the southern part of the country.
