Russian Drones Cause Damage to Hotel in Mykolaiv, Ukraine

The governor of the Mykolaiv region in Ukraine announced that a Russian drone attack inflicted significant damage on a hotel in the city of Mykolaiv in southern Ukraine. The Russian media reported that the hotel is hosting English-speaking mercenaries fighting in Ukraine. Mykolaiv Governor Vitaliy Kim stated via Telegram, "The enemy attacked the city with a Shahed-131/136 drone." He added, "As a result, a building in the hotel sustained serious damage and a fire broke out, which was quickly extinguished without any casualties or injuries."

Kim and the Ukrainian State Emergency Service indicated that the Russian attack also shattered windows at a nearby hotel and damaged heating infrastructure. The Russian media reported that non-governmental Russian fighters in the area claimed that Russian forces bombarded a shipbuilding yard and a hotel in Mykolaiv where English-speaking mercenaries reside.

Ukrainian Air Force also announced on Sunday via its Telegram account that its forces destroyed a drone launched by Russia over Mykolaiv, without providing further details. It noted that "four other drones launched by Russia were also destroyed over the area surrounding the capital Kyiv and the regions of Vinnytsia and Kirovohrad in central Ukraine, as well as over the Khmelnytskyi region in the west."
