For the first time, U.S. President Joe Biden publicly announced conditions on weapon supplies to Israel and froze the sending of certain types of weapons if an attack is launched on the city of Rafah, which is home to over a million displaced Palestinians. This decision shocked Tel Aviv.
The United States provides annual military aid of $3.8 billion to Israel, and senior American officials have criticized Tel Aviv for the high number of civilian casualties in Gaza, where the war has resulted in tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded, most of whom are children and women.
## What Weapons Have Been Frozen?
The United States froze the shipment of bombs to Israel after planning an invasion of Rafah. The specifics of that deal include:
- 1,800 bombs weighing 2,000 pounds (907 kilograms) each.
- 1,700 bombs weighing 500 pounds (226 kilograms) each.
## Military Support for Israel
Since October 7, the U.S. has provided nearly 21,000 guided munitions to Israel, half of which have been used in Gaza. Washington has delivered weapons directly by air, relying twice on emergency provisions to bypass Congressional approval.
The Biden administration has sent the following to Israel:
- "MK-82" bombs.
- "KMU-572" direct attack munitions.
- "FMU-139" bombs.
- 200 aircraft as part of the U.S. air bridge loaded with weapons and armored vehicles.

- Armored vehicles, personal protective equipment, medical supplies, and ammunition.
- 25 "F-35" fighter jets.

On December 2, according to the German news agency, the U.S. supplied Israel with 100 bunker-busting bombs and tens of thousands of other weapons, including:
- "BLU-109" bunker-busting bombs.
- 57,000 artillery shells.
- 5,000 "Mk82" bombs.
