Amidst palm oases surrounded by towering mountains, a family in Al-Ula has transformed their farm into a rural house named "Tarah," aimed at attracting tourists and visitors from around the world. They have utilized the surrounding materials to create decorative pieces and handicrafts, designing the house to be transparent so that the farm remains present even during sleep. This project is the first experience in rural lodging investments, aiming for development and expansion in this field to compete with major companies.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Hashim Abdullah Al-Balwi, Director of the Agricultural Tourism Farm Atmosphere, explained that "the project is an attempt to creatively activate the concept of agricultural tourism with a local mindset. Our goal is to offer an innovative farmhouse experience free from disturbances, utilizing the surrounding natural materials such as mountain stones, palm fronds, and plain sand without impacting the environment."
He pointed out that "all those working at the resort are family members with different specializations and roles, ranging from management, supervision, translation, presentation, to organization, providing high-quality services to guests, including food, beverages, and local dishes unique to the province, in addition to the opportunity to directly enjoy harvesting a variety of crops from the farm."
Al-Balwi added, "The significant tourism trend observed in Al-Ula prompted them to initiate this project, indicating that the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Province has played a prominent role in motivating, supporting, and qualifying the youth of the province to be effective national forces in building its future and presenting all its aspects to the world as an inspiring tourist and historical destination."
He encouraged all the youth of the province to "turn their ideas into reality and practical job opportunities that yield substantial gains and additional income, asserting that with determination and perseverance, anyone can achieve their goals."
