Drug Addicts Attack Citizens

A statement was issued by the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division, which stated: "As part of the daily follow-up conducted by the specialized units in the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces to combat crime of all kinds in various Lebanese regions, information was received by the Information Branch regarding two unknown individuals causing disturbances in the area of 'Al-Hosh' - Tyre, and attacking citizens and shop owners in the locality. Consequently, the specialized units in the branch began their field and investigative procedures to identify and arrest the mentioned individuals. As a result of investigations and inquiries, their identities were determined, namely: M. K. (born in 1985, Lebanese) and M. N. (born in 1979, Lebanese). On April 7, 2024, after surveillance, one of the branch patrols managed to arrest them in ‘Al-Hosh’ while they were visibly intoxicated. Upon searching them, a quantity of cocaine and narcotic pills were found in their possession." Upon investigation, they confessed to the charges against them and to drug use. Legal action was taken against them, and they, along with the seized items, were referred to the relevant authority, in accordance with the directives of the competent judiciary.
