The Directorate General of State Security announced today, Tuesday, in a statement that “after receiving information regarding a large quantity of concealed weapons in the plain of the city of Zahle, specifically in a tent erected on land belonging to the individual (E.S.), inhabited by the Syrian (M.D.) and the Syrian (H.N.), a patrol from the Bekaa regional directorate of State Security proceeded to the aforementioned location, raided the tent, and conducted a search in the presence of the Syrians (M.D.) and (H.N.), and discovered a quantity of military weapons and hunting firearms, as well as military clothing, several cell phones, and cameras.”
It added: “After obtaining judicial approval, both mentioned Syrians were arrested for possession of military weapons and hunting firearms in an illegal manner, and it was also established that they had entered Lebanon illegally. They were handed over to the relevant authorities for legal action, and efforts are currently underway to apprehend the other involved parties.”
