The Documentary and Experimental Cinema Development Center has announced the launch of a fund to support international projects, aimed at producing films for a global audience and developing documentary cinema's presence in international markets. According to the public relations office of the center, entering global markets and expanding the audience for documentary cinema while supporting new experiences and creative filmmaking methods are among the center's programs.
The international project support fund has been launched in line with this vision, focusing on common global issues in the documentary field. Throughout this year, the Iranian center specializing in documentary cinema has provided specific support for projects in the initial cutting stage (first editing) or post-production, particularly under the themes of "Gaza" and "Palestine."
Each year, in addition to providing financial support for global humanitarian and common issues, the fund will also have a special release. Projects submitted for financial support will be reviewed at the promotion event for the Iranian international documentary film, titled the "Cinema Truth" festival, with results announced during this event. The "Pitching" section or seminars will be held separately from the "Cinema Truth" festival events, which were part of previous festival editions.
Global filmmakers can apply for this financial support by submitting an idea and project for the film they wish to produce. Documentary filmmakers can send their projects to the following email: fund@defc.ir, through March of the coming year.
