An Israeli channel has sparked controversy surrounding Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, the Liverpool winger, by discussing his lack of participation in an international campaign supporting the Gaza Strip titled "All Eyes on Rafah." Currently, an international solidarity campaign is circulating on social media for the city of Rafah, located in southern Gaza, which has involved over 40 million people, including celebrities from art and sports around the world.
Israeli journalist Aiyala Hasson hosted a number of experts, including journalist Roi Kais, an expert on Arab affairs, on her program on the "Kan 11" channel, which is part of the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, to comment on the Egyptian player's lack of engagement with the campaign. Kais recounted Salah's professional history before addressing the international campaign supporting Rafah and questioned why Salah does not use his social media accounts, which have millions of followers, to express a supportive stance for Gaza.
The Israeli journalist made claims about Salah’s lack of involvement in the campaign, suggesting that "the entire Egyptian people are against Gazans." Meanwhile, the Israeli journalist pointed out that Salah is in a European country, not in Egypt, and thus could face criticism for any comments he makes.
