Title: Civil Defense Begins Extinguishing Fire in Serrat

Civil defense teams with all their equipment present in Akkar and the vicinity of the town of Serrat have started heading towards the landfill to begin the extinguishing and cooling process. This follows monitoring by the Secretary-General of the Higher Relief Commission, Major General Mohammad Khair, and instructions from Prime Minister Najib Mikati. In a statement, General Khair confirmed that "the handling of the fire has begun and the civil defense will work to extinguish the suspicious fires." He emphasized that he will provide the Prime Minister with all the details about the fire and everything happening at the landfill and will hold accountable all those negligent, including officials and landfill owners responsible for the fire. General Khair thanked everyone who followed this issue and worked to end this environmental crime, especially the civil defense.
