BTS Fans Celebrate Bronze Jubilee

Fans of the South Korean pop group BTS gathered in the capital city of Seoul on Monday to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the band's debut (Bronze Jubilee). Despite the group's current hiatus due to two of its members serving mandatory military duty, many of their devoted global fanbase, known as the "ARMY," flocked to Seoul this week. The seven-member group has achieved great success in attracting a massive following worldwide. Landmarks such as Seoul City Hall and Namsan Tower were lit up in purple, the band's signature color, while dozens of fans traveled from France, Mexico, and other countries to enjoy the sights of Seoul. A 20-year-old French student named Rita, a fan since 2018, expressed her excitement: "I came to Korea last week and I'm so eager to see Namsan Tower in purple." Institutions and companies are also participating in the celebration, with the city of Seoul collaborating with the group's management to organize a tour of BTS-related landmarks. The South Korean postal service issued special commemorative stamps to mark the band's anniversary. The celebrations are expected to peak on Saturday when RM, the group's leader, is anticipated to meet with fans, followed by a fireworks display near the Han River that flows through Seoul. Jungkook posted a message on Twitter for the fans on Sunday, stating: "Thank you for teaching us some, or maybe a lot, about feelings of happiness and love. I want to move forward with you over the next ten years as well."
