Russia Warns Against Expansion of NATO and Japan Drills

Russia's TASS news agency reported Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko stating today, Monday, that "any expansion of military drills between NATO and Japan will only lead to an escalation of tensions." Earlier this month, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida noted that the strengthening of military cooperation between Russia and North Korea highlights Tokyo's need to establish stronger ties with NATO amid increasing interconnections in regional security threats.
