A serious crisis is delaying the announcement of Kylian Mbappé's transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid. The "Radio Monte Carlo" network published a report on the reasons preventing Mbappé from wearing the Real Madrid jersey or speaking openly about his new destination. It confirmed that there is no issue preventing Mbappé from signing with another club, but there is a crisis delaying his appearance in a Real Madrid shirt or logo.
According to sports lawyer Thierry Granturco, who specializes in player contract signings, the situation hinges on image rights. He noted that it relates to whether PSG allows the player to appear with another club's logo, given that his contract ends on June 30 of the upcoming year. He added, "It's possible for the player to appear with another club's logo at the end of the sports season, but Paris may not allow him to do so; it depends on some flexibility."
On the other hand, Arnaud Picard, the lawyer for Juventus star Adrien Rabiot, mentioned, "The new club can pay a financial compensation to terminate the player's contract early, allowing him to appear with their logo." However, he cautioned, "But the situation is different here, as Mbappé is leaving for free, and the relationship between the Parisian and Madrid clubs is tense. His appearance with the Real logo is not a legal error, but it is a risk, because theoretically, he is still contracted to another party, and it is a dangerous matter."
Monte Carlo concluded its report by stating that the Parisian star is avoiding discussions about Real Madrid, so he may have to wait until July 1 to appear with the Madrid giant's logo. It is worth noting that Mbappé announced his departure from Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the current season, and most media reports indicate a transfer to Real Madrid at the start of the next season.
