A security source reported that three individuals were killed or injured in a family dispute over inheritance in Diyala Province. The source told "Baghdad Today" that "a civilian working as a barber was killed, and two others were injured in a family conflict that escalated to the use of sharp weapons in a popular neighborhood in Khanaqin, 100 km northeast of Baqubah."
He added that "the conflict was not armed, and the security forces imposed a security cordon and initiated an investigation," confirming that "reactions were controlled and the situation is currently stable." He noted that "one of the injured was transferred to Baqubah Hospital due to the seriousness of the injury."
On his part, the director of Khanaqin General Hospital, Shwan Shakir, stated that "the hospital received three injured individuals this evening, including two brothers and their uncle, all of whom sustained injuries after a brawl involving knives broke out between them," indicating that "the uncle passed away due to severe injuries." Furthermore, eyewitnesses mentioned that the fight erupted in front of the uncle's house when the nephew's children clashed with him using iron hoses and knives.
