Minister of Youth and Sports Dr. George Klass received a delegation from the Lebanese Olympic Committee in his office at the ministry, in the presence of the acting Director General of the ministry, Mrs. Fadia Halaal. The delegation was led by Dr. Pierre Galkh and included Vice Presidents Engineer Mazen Ramadan and Grandmaster Sami Qablawi, Secretary General Mr. Joudat Shaker, Treasurer Attorney François Saadeh, and committee member Mr. Khodor Maqlad. Minister Klass expressed his happiness with the direction in which matters concluded, emphasizing the importance of resolving the crisis faced by the Olympic Committee and the need to restore a family atmosphere that reflects sportsmanship, especially ahead of the Olympic Games (Paris – 2024) and the values of meeting and tolerance they represent, stressing the importance of collaboration among all parties.
Klass hoped that this positive spirit would be reflected in the upcoming phase within the sports community regarding the elections in the federations and the Olympic Committee and that harmony would prevail based on sincere foundations to restore unity to the sports family, prioritizing Lebanon above all else. During the meeting, Minister Klass contacted Prime Minister Najib Mikati to inform him of the positive atmosphere and the restoration of matters to the correct Olympic path. Mikati congratulated him and spoke with Galkh and Shaker, extending his congratulations and calling for further constructive and fruitful interaction to serve the sports movement in Lebanon.
