The Public Prosecution in the Egyptian governorate of Giza has decided to refer festival singer Issam Sasa to the Criminal Court for the incident of running over a citizen on the Ring Road in Talbiya, which resulted in the citizen's death. Investigation authorities in Giza had issued a decision to locate and apprehend Issam Sasa over accusations of running over a person on the Ring Road in Talbiya. This decision followed the receipt of a report from the forensic medicine authority which confirmed that "Sasa" tested positive for drug use while driving his vehicle and hit the young man.
The Public Prosecution in Omrania had previously issued a decision to release the accused on a bail of 30,000 Egyptian pounds, with instructions to present him to the forensic medicine authority for a drug test, before handing him over to the police station to enforce the decision. Investigations revealed that "Sasa" was driving at a speed between 70 and 80 km/h, and traffic management is currently verifying the posted speed limit and reviewing surveillance camera footage to determine the vehicle's speed.
The investigations indicated that while driving on the Ring Road, the singer was surprised by a young man crossing the street, leading to a collision that knocked the victim several meters away. He stopped until police arrived, and the young man was transported by ambulance to the hospital, where he later died. An examination of the victim's belongings revealed that he was a driver in his late thirties. A police force from the Talbiya Police Station has proceeded to bring festival singer Issam Sasa to the Omrania Prosecution for investigation regarding the incident on charges of manslaughter.
