Iraq and Russia Emphasize the Importance of Dialogue in Resolving Crises

Iraqi National Security Adviser Qassim al-Araji and Russian Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs for Legal and International Affairs Igor Zubov emphasized the importance of resorting to the principle of dialogue and diplomacy to solve international crises. The media office of the National Security Adviser announced that "Al-Araji met today, on the sidelines of the twelfth meeting of senior officials on security issues held in St. Petersburg, Russia, with Russian Deputy Minister Igor Zubov."

The statement added that "Al-Araji discussed with Zubov the enhancement of security cooperation between the two countries and continued collaboration in the field of combating terrorism and information exchange," noting that "Al-Araji reviewed the developments of political and security situations at both the international and regional levels." It continued, "The importance of resorting to the principle of dialogue and diplomacy to resolve international crises and spare the world the repercussions of dangerous and destructive wars was reaffirmed."
