The Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced today, Wednesday, the arrest of an international drug dealer found in possession of over 300,000 "Captagon" pills, between the provinces of Kirkuk and Sulaymaniyah.
According to the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior and the Security Media Cell, Brigadier General Makiad Miri, in a statement, the General Directorate for Drug Control and Psychotropic Substances arrested one of the international drug dealers with 320,000 Captagon pills, equivalent to 55 kilograms, during a security operation based on precise intelligence information.
The statement indicated that the arrest operation took place between Kirkuk and Sulaymaniyah, under the supervision of the Kirkuk drug director in collaboration with the investigative authority. It noted that the investigative papers concerning the accused were presented before the investigating judge, who decided to detain him under Article 27 of the Anti-Narcotics Law.
