President Donald Trump has announced that Washington plans to establish two agreements with Iran, one concerning the Strait of Hormuz and the other aimed at dismantling Iran's nuclear program.
Speaking with reporters onboard Air Force One en route to the White House, Trump stated that the U.S. is in discussions with Iranian officials regarding the framework of negotiations.
Previously, Trump agreed to suspend an attack on Iran, stating that Iran and several Middle Eastern countries requested postponement of any military action against Iran.
Furthermore, Saudi Press Agency "SPA" reported that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a phone call with Trump during which he emphasized the importance of prioritizing dialogue to de-escalate regional tensions.
In discussions with Trump, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman highlighted the need for all possible efforts to achieve a diplomatic resolution conducive to the region's security and stability, cautioning against triggering a broader conflict that could affect both regional and international security.
In return, Trump asserted that his decision to pause the attack is contingent upon swiftly reaching an agreement, which should include the immediate and full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the elimination of the Iranian nuclear threat.
