A tremor measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale struck the Arequipa region in southern Peru today, Sunday, as announced by the National Institute of Geophysics. The earthquake, which had its epicenter in the Pacific Ocean near the Caravelí province in the Arequipa region, occurred at a depth of 25 kilometers, according to the institute. Authorities have not issued a tsunami warning.
