Shocking Crime in Egypt: A Husband Kills His Wife's Teacher

In a shocking crime in the governorate of Monufia on Wednesday, a man who did not want his wife to continue her education murdered her teacher with a knife in front of family and bystanders. The assailant, a technician working in "decoration," had threatened several teachers in the town of Ashmun, Monufia, over their teaching of his wife, a third-year trade school student named "Walaa A.," as he did not want her to continue her studies.

When he learned that his wife was taking private lessons from teacher Abdel Azim El-Bagouri due to the approaching exams, he called him to threaten him against teaching her. However, the teacher told him that this was a family matter he had no involvement in.

The murderer then approached the victim's home and sent someone to ask him to come down and talk. When the teacher came down to greet him at the entrance of the building, the husband got into a fight with him and pulled a knife from his pocket, slaughtering the teacher.

The killer did not stop there; he also slit the teacher's stomach, prompting the victim to call for his uncle, saying, "Help me, uncle… help me, uncle." As the victim breathed his last, family members and bystanders found him drenched in blood from his neck and abdomen, with his intestines spilling out in a ghastly scene. They tried to rescue him and rushed him to the hospital, but he had already passed away.

The incident sparked outrage on social media, with users sharing images of the victim and calling for justice against the killer who committed this crime against a teacher, husband, and father of young children. Meanwhile, authorities announced the arrest of the suspect, the seizure of the murder weapon, and the initiation of legal proceedings and investigations.

Today, the town of Ashmun mourned what they called the "martyr of knowledge," with a large attendance of family members, teachers, students, and parents, who emphasized that teacher Abdel Azim was a respectable person known for doing good, providing free lessons to underprivileged students, and being loved by his colleagues and students as well as the community.
