Russia ranked 52nd in the world classification concerning price growth, with an inflation rate of 11.9% last year. According to a study conducted by the "Novosti" agency, the list of countries experiencing the highest inflation rates included two Arab nations. Currently, some countries are experiencing double-digit or even triple-digit inflation due to the sanctions policy imposed by the West against Russia, which has led to a surge in energy prices.
The highest inflation rates were recorded in Zimbabwe (243.8%) and Venezuela (234%), followed by Lebanon (122%). Argentina ranked fourth with an inflation rate of 94.8%, and Sudan came in fifth at 87.3%. Turkey followed in sixth place with a rate of 64.3%, and Sri Lanka recorded 59.2%. The top ten also included Suriname (54.6%), Ghana (54.1%), and Haiti (48.3%), according to the study.
