The Ministry of Public Health condemned, in a statement, the "brutal Israeli bombing that targeted the martyr Salah Ghandoor Hospital in Bint Jbeil," resulting in the death of one civilian and injuries to seven others, in addition to eight healthcare workers at the hospital, two of whom are in critical condition. The bombing also caused destruction of the hospital's entrance and facade.
The ministry regarded this attack as "a complete war crime and a new chapter in the repeated and blatant violations perpetrated by the Zionist enemy against healthcare facilities and healthcare workers in Lebanon," violating all human rights laws, the Geneva Conventions, and all international laws and norms that stipulate the protection and respect for healthcare workers and their safety during armed conflicts.
The ministry called upon the international community, human rights organizations, and the United Nations to "condemn this blatant aggression and take necessary measures to stop these heinous and repeated crimes and hold their perpetrators accountable."
In conclusion, the ministry extended its "sincere condolences to the family of the martyr" and wished for "the speedy recovery of the injured," affirming that it "will not hesitate to fulfill its humanitarian and national duty" and will continue to "raise its voice high to defend the rights of its citizens and protect healthcare providers," drawing strength from the "principles of justice and international law."
