Russian news agency TASS reported that "Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan tomorrow, Wednesday, during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan." Putin last met Xi in May when he visited China on his first foreign trip after being inaugurated for a fifth presidential term. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is an international political, economic, security, and defense organization established by China and Russia in 2001. The other members of the organization include India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Turkey is not a member of the organization but often participates in its meetings as a "dialogue partner."
