A prominent field leader in Hezbollah was killed Tuesday night in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon, which also resulted in three other fatalities, according to a military source. Hezbollah mourned a significant leader within its ranks who died from an Israeli strike in southern Lebanon, and the military source stated that he was the "top leader" in the party who has been killed since the escalation between Hezbollah and Israel began more than eight months ago.
Hezbollah's statement mourned "Commander Taleb Sami Abdullah," nicknamed "Hajj Abu Taleb," born in 1969, from the town of Adchit in southern Lebanon. Abu Taleb is considered the leader of the "Victory Unit" on the southern front, responsible for Hezbollah's activities in the eastern sector from Bint Jbeil to the Shebaa Farms.
