Mohammed bin Zayed Affirms Support for Initiatives to Resolve Sudan Crisis

On Thursday, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, received a phone call from General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council of the Republic of Sudan. During the call, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and the head of the Sovereign Council discussed "the relations between the two brotherly countries and their peoples, in addition to developments in the Sudanese situation and ways to support Sudan in overcoming the crisis it is facing." According to the Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed emphasized "the UAE's commitment to supporting all solutions and initiatives aimed at halting the escalation and ending the crisis in brotherly Sudan, in a manner that enhances its stability and security and fulfills its people's aspirations for development and prosperity." He also stressed "the necessity of prioritizing wisdom and peaceful dialogue, upholding Sudan's supreme interests, and maintaining its security and stability." Additionally, he expressed "the UAE's commitment to continue supporting humanitarian efforts to alleviate the suffering of the brotherly Sudanese people."
