Member of the "Democratic Gathering" bloc, MP Wael Abu Faour, indicated from the Parliament after a meeting of the parliamentary defense committee: "I would have preferred to invite the minister to the defense committee meeting to have a substantive discussion on the matter." Abu Faour said, "The discussion about the army and military service is not a constitutional discussion but a political discussion, because the source of the conflict is a political decision that has intentionally or unintentionally hindered the work of the military institution. We are in a state of war, and it is inappropriate to engage in this chaos by rejecting something today and reinstating it tomorrow, creating a dangerous polarization within the army." He concluded: "What is needed is to support the military institution and other security institutions, ensuring all means of their continuity and support instead of creating polarization and conflicts around them in these critical circumstances."
