The Russian Federal Security Service announced the arrest of a citizen from a Central Asian country who was planning to blow up a bus station in the resort city of Essentuki in the Stavropol region of southern Russia and join ISIS in Syria. The detainee stated that he was a member of ISIS and had frequented the bus station in the city, studying the timing of passenger gatherings and the "most suitable" location to plant a homemade explosive device at the station to inflict the maximum number of casualties. He confessed to assembling the components of the explosive device and storing it in a garage he rented earlier, with his plan including leaving for Syria after the explosion to join the terrorists.
Yesterday, it was announced that a terrorist attack had been thwarted in the newly established city of Donetsk.
