Dutch Seismologist Warns: Earthquakes of 8 Magnitude Expected Between May 17 and 23

The controversial Dutch seismologist Frank Hoogerbeets has re-emerged to warn of imminent earthquakes he predicts will occur next week. The expert shared a video on his X account today, Wednesday, from the SSGEOS astronomical agency that he leads, explaining the possibility of seismic activity in the coming days, suggesting it could be strong with magnitudes of 7 or 8.

In the video, the Dutch seismologist stated that the alignment of planets and the moon between May 17 and 18, as well as the period from May 22 to 23, is likely to result in severe earthquakes, which could potentially reach magnitudes of 7 to 8 on the Richter scale. Earthquakes exceeding magnitude seven are typically considered destructive.

He also anticipated continued increased seismic activity in the last week of May but did not specify any regions as of yet.

### Panic Worldwide

Hoogerbeets heads the Solar System Geometry Survey (SSGEOS), a research organization focused on monitoring the geometry emerging from celestial bodies and its relationship with seismic activity on Earth. His predictions and warnings have caused considerable alarm around the globe, as he links these forecasts to planetary alignments in space, forming a "critical geometry" that affects the Earth and leads to earthquakes, according to his theory.

Previously, some of his predictions have coincided with earthquakes that struck various countries, and he used the opportunity to remind his followers that he had anticipated these earthquakes in his earlier reports, even specifying some areas that experienced seismic events.

### "Unscientific"

It is noteworthy that all scientists dismiss Hoogerbeets' controversial theories, considering them unscientific. They assert that there is no connection between planetary positions and the movement and activity of earthquakes on Earth, emphasizing that this notion is still regarded as highly unlikely.

Modern science has successfully predicted weather conditions accurately and devised mathematical equations to predict astronomical phenomena such as eclipses. However, according to scientists and experts, there is currently no method for predicting earthquakes, neither through planetary movements nor otherwise, warning of individuals impersonating experts who instill fear and anxiety among the public for fame or social media engagement.
