The media office of the Dar al-Fatwa announced in a statement that "the Islamic Jurisprudence Assembly of the Muslim World League has issued a decision to select the Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Daryan, as a member of the assembly, in addition to his membership in the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League since 2018." Mufti Daryan participated, at the invitation of the Secretary-General of the league, Dr. Muhammad Abdul Karim Al-Issa, in the assembly's "twenty-third" session held in Riyadh. Mufti Daryan expressed his gratitude to Dr. Al-Issa and the Islamic Jurisprudence Assembly for "the trust they have placed in him," affirming "the work and effort for the benefit of the Islamic and Arab nations."
The Mufti stated: "The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is Lebanon's support and the breath by which it lives. The relations between the two countries are stable and deep-rooted. What the Kingdom of Good is doing with its Arab brothers to help Lebanon in its crises is out of brotherly Arabic spirit, authenticity, chivalry, and love for the Lebanese people." He added: "We have felt from our Saudi brothers all-out support for the Dar al-Fatwa, the people, and its constitutional institutions. We reiterate our constant call for the Lebanese leadership to work on fortifying national unity and to expedite the resolution of accumulated crises. We ask God to remove the dark cloud from Lebanon's sky so it can rise again and assume its civilizational and brotherly role as it did in the past with its Arab brothers."
