The Minister of Energy and Water in the caretaker government, Walid Fi'ad, strongly condemned in a statement the repeated assaults on Lebanon, the latest being the targeting of electrical installations at the Lebanon power station in the Marjayoun area, which is considered a vital artery supplying large areas in the south with water. He noted that such attacks are a clear violation of all international laws and norms, particularly the Geneva Convention, which prohibits targeting vital civilian installations, and are also considered war crimes that cannot be justified in any way, as they deprive a large number of southern residents of basic necessities such as water and electricity. He called on "the Lebanese state and relevant authorities to seek to file a complaint against the Israeli enemy before the international community to hold it accountable and condemn this reckless act, and to assist us in protecting civilian installations and ensuring that such assaults do not repeat in order to preserve vital infrastructure, sustain daily life, and provide essential needs for our steadfast people in the south."
