Patriarch Raï: We Pray for an End to the War in Gaza and Southern Lebanon

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Raï stated, "We pray for an end to the war in Gaza and Southern Lebanon, and for the establishment of a just and comprehensive peace in both regions." During a mass he presided over at the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bkerke, he noted, "How we wish that those involved in political affairs realize that they are called to sanctify and be sanctified in their political work, for it is primarily a noble art directed towards serving the human being and ensuring security stability through the orderly state institutions. They should hasten to address the social, economic, and security concerns of the people and elect a president according to the clear and explicit constitution, which would restore citizens' trust in the person of the president and in the institutions of the constitutional state."
