Israeli channel 12 presenter and actress Lama Tatour attacked Israeli prisoner Noa Argamani, who was recovered from Hamas captivity, in a post on Instagram yesterday, Saturday. Tatour questioned Argamani's appearance after being held for nine months, noting that she looked very good. However, the post was quickly removed from the social media platform.
In an Instagram story, the presenter shared a picture of Argamani and commented: "Is this how a kidnapped person looks after 9 months? Her eyebrows are neater than mine... Her skin? Her hair? Her nails???? What’s going on??" She added: "Is this why children, women, and innocents have to die and be cut apart?"
Channel 12 responded to Tatour's remarks, stating: "We strongly condemn the words of artist Lama Tatour on social media." Program producer Khaled Nator confirmed that "Tatour's words are unacceptable to us, and thus she was suspended from her work on the program immediately."
Lama Tatour hosts a cultural program in Arabic every Saturday morning alongside Elias Aboud on channel 12. The Israeli military announced yesterday, Saturday, the recovery of four living Israeli hostages during an operation by its forces in the Al-Nasirat camp in the Gaza Strip.
