Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique commented on Kylian Mbappé's official announcement of his departure from the team at the end of the season. Enrique stated, "We didn't win, so it’s clear that these have been hard days due to the emotions since this elimination. We failed to win against Dortmund, and we were close to reaching the final."
He added, "Football is a complicated sport; teams with the best players don't win every match. We have known Mbappé's decision for a long time, like everyone else, and this doesn't change anything in the larger picture."
Enrique continued, "All my decisions are made based on what I believe is best for the team. There is still a title we are striving to achieve this season, and that’s our goal. I am convinced that regardless of the players, we will be stronger next season."
Regarding his feelings about Mbappé's departure, Enrique remarked, "We wanted very much to face each other, and Mbappé denied that publicly. All I can say is good things about Kylian and his brother."
He concluded, "I understand Mbappé's decision; he has spent 7 years here, he is a club legend, and he has given everything to Paris. He hasn’t informed us where he will go next, although we think it is clear."
