Safe Theft from a Company in Jbeil

On the morning of June 3, 2023, unknown individuals broke into a company in the Jbeil area and stole a safe containing $20,000, in addition to cash from the accounting department. They then fled to an unknown location. Following this, the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces arrived at the scene and apprehended the perpetrators, identified as A.S. (born in 2001, Egyptian) and B.Sh. (born in 1995, Lebanese).

Upon searching them and their two motorcycles, $1,260 in cash and a quantity of drugs were seized. During interrogation, they confessed to the theft of the safe from the aforementioned company after monitoring it for two weeks. They also admitted to committing numerous thefts of electrical wires in the area, melting them at Zira Beach, and selling them at scrap yards, splitting the profits between themselves. Additionally, they carried out thefts of diesel fuel from a resort, as well as various bags and wallets from the Jbeil beach, and were involved in drug use.

A total of 99,251,000 Lebanese pounds, 315 euros, 350,000 Syrian pounds, 5 mobile phones, and plastic containers for storing drugs were seized. The seized cash and the value of the two motorcycles were handed over to the complainant, and the necessary legal actions were taken against them. They were placed in custody along with the seized items based on the judicial authority's orders.
