Twelve individuals lost their lives in the Algerian desert, specifically in the Belkebour area of the southern province of Tamanrasset. A local association named "Ghout for Search and Rescue," based in Tamanrasset, published a list of the victims' names and stated that they were "Syrian brothers." The association confirmed that the bodies of the victims were handed over to the morgue at the "Bordj Omar Idriss" Hospital in the province of Illizi. While the Algerian authorities have not released any official statement regarding the death of the Syrians, media reports suggest that the victims entered Algeria from the Libyan border and died of thirst in the desert.
