Real Madrid President Florentino Pérez praised Kylian Mbappé yesterday during a presentation event as the new player at "Santiago Bernabéu." Pérez stated during the event: "Dear Kylian, thank you for the effort that many cannot imagine. You have arrived at Real Madrid with a remarkable record." According to the Spanish newspaper "Marca," Pérez referred to the significant economic sacrifice that Mbappé made to join Real Madrid.
The report indicated that Paris Saint-Germain was prepared to offer Mbappé a four-season contract worth 100 million euros annually, but Kylian declined this to go to Real Madrid. Mbappé also sacrificed part of his salary at Paris after deciding to join Real Madrid for free, contrary to the agreement that PSG had proposed with the player.
The article pointed out that Mbappé also sacrificed being the star player at "Parc des Princes" and the darling of Paris, in addition to being the face of Ligue 1 and close to French President Emmanuel Macron.
Marca noted that the sacrifices mentioned by Pérez also include his agreement not to take the number 10 he wears with France and the number 7 he shines in at PSG.
Furthermore, "Marca" revealed that Mbappé agreed to transfer to Real Madrid for a salary of only 15 million euros, along with a signing bonus ranging from 100 to 115 million euros. As a result of Mbappé's sacrifices, Real Madrid left him with 60 to 80% of his image rights. "Marca" added that Mbappé was earning 30 million euros per season from image contracts while in Paris.
