The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomed, today Tuesday, the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution No. 2735, proposed by the United States, which "calls for an immediate, complete, and total ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the full withdrawal of Israeli occupying forces from it, the exchange of prisoners and detainees, as well as the safe return of Palestinian civilians to their homes throughout Gaza, while ensuring full access to humanitarian aid."
The Ministry praised in a statement, "the Security Council's reaffirmation in its decision of its steadfast commitment to the two-state solution in accordance with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions."
It also expressed hope that "this decision will positively reflect on the situation in Lebanon, leading to the full implementation of Security Council Resolution No. 1701 (2006) to achieve sustainable stability in southern Lebanon."
