A government report released today, Monday, stated that Israeli defense industry exports rose to an unprecedented level of $13.1 billion in 2023, noting hundreds of contracts signed by various companies. The Ministry of Defense indicated that missile systems and air defense constituted about 36 percent of the exports, followed by radars, electronic warfare equipment, fire control towers, and launch platforms at around 11 percent each, and then aircraft and avionics at nine percent. The value of Israeli defense industry exports was $12.5 billion in 2022, and it has now doubled compared to five years ago. The ministry added that defense exports have become a key priority as part of efforts to strengthen strategic security relations worldwide, enter new markets, remove bureaucratic barriers, and reduce regulatory obstacles. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated, "While our industries primarily focus on supplying the defense establishment with the necessary capabilities to support our forces and defend our citizens... they also continue to promote areas of cooperation and export to international partners."
