NASA Conducts Mars Life Simulation

Yesterday, Saturday, in Houston, Texas, the first mission of the multi-mission project by the U.S. space agency NASA, which aims to simulate living on Mars, concluded. This followed the departure of four volunteers after more than a year in the Mars-like environment created by NASA. Media reports quoted NASA stating that this mission was the first in a series called "Crew Health and Performance Exploration Analog" (CHAPEA). During the mission, the crew simulated walking on the "Alpha Mars sand dunes" several times, cultivated and harvested various salad crops to supplement their often limited food supply, and participated in maintaining the environment and equipment. More missions are scheduled to take place in 2025 and 2027.
