Czech President Petr Pavel announced that "Ukraine will receive approximately 100,000 pieces of ammunition as part of the Czech initiative in both July and August of this year." Pavel noted that "Ukrainian forces will receive between 80,000 to 100,000 pieces of ammunition monthly from September until the end of the year." According to the Seznam Zprávy website, Pavel stated that "a significant breakthrough on the front should not be expected in the near future, but the West should try to convince Russia that it cannot achieve any major successes on the battlefield. This, in his belief, will allow a faster move to the negotiating table." The Czech President emphasized the need to supply Ukraine with everything necessary to strengthen its defense capabilities.
