Arrest of Suspect in Attack on U.S. Embassy in Madrid

A spokesperson for Spanish law enforcement agencies stated that the Civil Guard has arrested a person accused of throwing a metallic object at the U.S. Embassy during the celebrations of the national football team's victory in the European Championship. The spokesperson said, "At around 6 AM on Tuesday, while the celebrations for our football team's win were ongoing, a young man threw a metallic object at the U.S. Embassy building. It turned out he was a criminal involved in two knife attacks." Last Friday afternoon, in a suburb of Madrid, a person attacked a man with a knife, causing him non-life-threatening injuries, and he was transported to the hospital for medical care. The police immediately began a search for the criminal and arrested him. On the same evening, a second stabbing incident occurred, resulting in severe injuries to a person, who was taken to the hospital.
