Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán mentioned in a letter to European Union leaders that "Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is ready to immediately act as a peace mediator in the Russian-Ukrainian war if elected in November." Orbán crafted the letter, which was addressed to European Council President Charles Michel and shared with all EU leaders, after discussions with Trump and the leaders of Ukraine, Russia, and China. Orbán wrote in the letter: "I can (...) say with certainty that shortly after winning the election, he will not wait until his inauguration; he will be ready to work as a peace mediator immediately. He has detailed and established plans for it."
