The management of FC Barcelona has made its first offer to acquire one of the standout players in defense during the summer transfer window. Barcelona aims to sign Dutch right-back Jeremie Frimpong, who is under contract with Bayer Leverkusen until the summer of 2028.
Several reports in recent months have indicated that Frimpong is one of the targets for Real Madrid to succeed Dani Carvajal. According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport," the new Barcelona coach Hans Flick has requested the club to sign Frimpong this summer.
Frimpong's market value is 50 million euros, but the Catalan team has made a low initial offer to sign the player. Frimpong wishes to postpone deciding his future until after the Euro 2024, where he will represent the Netherlands.
"Sport" revealed that Bayer Leverkusen has made contacts in recent days for the services of Ansu Fati. Barcelona is expected to look into including Fati or other players in the deal to reduce the price for Frimpong.
