Meanwhile, Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin spoke by phone with Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh on Saturday, discussing the negotiations aimed at achieving a ceasefire in Gaza. Diplomatic sources indicated that Kalin and Haniyeh reviewed the current status of the ceasefire negotiations, the steps needed to ensure a lasting ceasefire, the exchange of prisoners, and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the region.
