Official Holiday for the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary

Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati issued an administrative memorandum today, Wednesday, announcing the closure of public administrations, public institutions, and municipalities in observance of the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The text of the memorandum states: "Based on Decree No. 15215 dated September 27, 2005 and its amendments, which specifies official holidays and occasions, all public administrations, public institutions, and municipalities will be closed on Thursday, August 15, 2024, in celebration of the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary."
