Saudi Arabia to Host the First Electronic Olympic Games

Saudi Arabia will host the first edition of the Electronic Olympic Games in 2025, as officially announced by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) today, Friday. The IOC stated in a press release: "The International Olympic Committee announced today its partnership with the Saudi Arabian National Olympic Committee to host the inaugural Electronic Olympic Games in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2025." It added, "The partnership between the IOC and the Saudi Arabian National Olympic Committee will last for 12 years, with the Electronic Olympics being held regularly."

For his part, the Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, said: "The announcement from the IOC to host this global sporting event in Saudi Arabia reflects the unprecedented support that sports in Saudi Arabia receives from the leadership of this great nation, and the continuous support and follow-up from Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, which has enabled us to move forward with hosting such major international events."

The Saudi minister emphasized that gaining the honor of hosting the Electronic Olympic Games in 2025 "affirms that Saudi Arabia has become a home for sports recognized by the entire world."
