The Iraqi Airways General Company announced today, Wednesday, that it has returned two B737-8 MAX aircraft to service after completing the required maintenance from the manufacturer. The company stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that "under the direct supervision of the Minister of Transport, Razak Mohibs Al-Saadawi, and the follow-up of the Director General of Iraqi Airways, Manaf Abdul Muneem, the company's engineering and technical teams completed the maintenance work on the two B737-8 MAX aircraft and returned them to service after a brief halt."
It added that "the maintenance work carried out at its headquarters inside Baghdad International Airport included replacing the fuel nozzle for the engines based on the technical bulletin issued by the manufacturer CFM, which sent a specialized team to oversee the replacement process and train the national carrier's staff on only one aircraft, with the technical teams of the company handling similar work for the rest of the fleet based on the agreement between our company and the manufacturer."
The company continued, saying that "work is ongoing to return the remaining two aircraft of the same model to service for the same reason, with completion of maintenance expected at the beginning of next week, noting that this work was done without material costs according to the contract signed with the manufacturer."
