Death of the Widow of the Late Artist Farid Shawqi: What Do You Know About Suhir Turk?

Early on Thursday morning, Suhir Turk, the widow of the late artist Farid Shawqi, known by many titles such as "The Beast of the Screen" and "The King of Tars," passed away. Abir Farid Shawqi wrote on her Facebook page: "My mother, the late Suhir Turk, has passed away. The funeral prayer will be held after noon prayers at Al-Kawakibi Mosque."

For its part, the Actors' Syndicate mourned Farid Shawqi's widow, stating in their announcement: "With great sadness, we announce the passing of the wife of the great artist Farid Shawqi and the mother of both actress Rania Farid Shawqi and director Abir Farid Shawqi." They continued: "The Actors' Syndicate, led by Dr. Ashraf Zaki and the board, extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, praying that God grants her vast mercy and inspires her family with patience and solace. Indeed, to God we belong and to Him we shall return."

Artist Nahed El Sebai also mourned her, writing on her personal Instagram account: "Indeed, to God we belong and to Him we shall return. My grandmother's wife, Mrs. Suhir Turk, has passed away. She is the mother of my aunts Rania Farid Shawqi and Abir Farid Shawqi. We ask for Al-Fatiha and prayers for all those we have lost."

Suhir Turk was the fourth and final wife of Farid Shawqi. She remained by his side for 28 years until his passing in 1998 and frequently praised his morals and humanity in various television programs before stepping back from the limelight. Farid Shawqi had two daughters with her: actress Rania Farid Shawqi and Abir Farid Shawqi, who worked for some time as an assistant director.
