New Zealand's Foreign Minister Winston Peters announced that his country will provide an additional $5 million to the World Food Programme and UNICEF to deliver humanitarian assistance to the Gaza Strip, according to the "Wafa" agency. In a post on the platform "X," Peters described the humanitarian conditions in Gaza as "catastrophic." He stated, "New Zealand will provide an additional $5 million to the World Food Programme and UNICEF for food, sanitation, and health assistance, raising New Zealand's humanitarian aid to the region to $22 million." New Zealand also announced last week the resumption of its funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), after suspending it in late January.
