Ronaldo Achieves Worst Record in His International Career

The captain of the Portugal national team and its all-time top scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo, is struggling to score in the ongoing UEFA European Championship held in Germany. Despite participating as a starter in all three group stage matches against the Czech Republic (2-1), Turkey (3-0), and Georgia (2-0), he failed to find the net. The website talkSPORT reported that this marks the first time in Ronaldo's international career that he has not scored any goals during the group stage of a major international tournament.

It was added that the Portuguese star had previously scored in the group stages of the last ten international tournaments he played in, which include the European Championships in 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020, as well as in the World Cups in 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022. It is worth noting that Ronaldo is the all-time top scorer in the UEFA European Championship with 14 goals and has the most appearances in the tournament with six participations.
